A new rising star on the Paris scene (both gay and fitness) Ricky has been setting pulses racing all over the Marais.
BGL:
You have recently emigrated to Paris from London. Has it been easy to make the adjustment?
RB:
There is still a lot I need to do over here, being fluent in French being one of the biggest things. Saying that it has been a lot easier than I thought. I have managed to pick up clients to coach pretty easily, and made a lot of cool new friends.
BGL:
What does an average working day look like for you?
RB:
I usually have a handful of personal training clients, no more than three a day…I train them either at my house, at the sports park across the road from my house or at the gym around the corner. Working a maximum of three hours a day gives me plenty of time to cook for myself and spending 2 hours a day in the gym, 5 days a week. Living the life.
BGL:
Do you have a gogo name, and what were your rejected attempts?
RB:
Ricardo Prince is my stage name and I was born with it!
BGL:
What’s the toughest thing about being a gogo dancer?
RB:
I have always had issues with body confidence, so I doubt myself a lot. I think that’s only because in this industry it’s not about how good of a dancer you are, it’s all about how you look and how jacked your body is. So being a professionally trained dancer and being turned down for a lot of jobs has taken hits to my confidence a few times.
BGL:
What is the best job you have ever had?
RB:
That’s a hard one, I did enjoy European Gay Ski Week I did this year, only because we get to enjoy a holiday in the French alps as part of a team of dancers. I made a lot of new friends and felt very at home in the French Go Go scene very quickly.
BGL:
And the worst?
RB:
I love to dance, I can’t really think of a worst. Although if the music is bad that can make it hard to get your groove on to.
BGL:
Give us your top fitness tip right now?
RB:
Don’t get complacent. The fitness industry is changing every year, l stay educated so when science decides something you were doing last year is in correct or ineffective you don’t get left behind.
BGL:
What is your best asset?
RB:
That’s a hard one, I think my crazy side that not everyone gets to see.
BGL:
What is the thing that is the most surprising about you?
RB:
My body dysmorphia, or my lack of confidence (sometimes)
BGL:
The worst pick-up line anyone has ever used on you?
RB:
Dick pics?
BGL:
You have a beautiful long-term boyfriend, so can you guys give us some advice to longevity and success #relationshipgoals
RB:
It has been a long hard journey and we have had to make a lot of compromises on both sides. We have been through so much together that when we do fight I just need to remember the journey we have been on. Be patient, be forgiving.
BGL:
What’s the best thing about being gay?
RB:
Meeting all the different kinds of people that come in and out of your life.
BGL:
Who would play you in a movie?
RB:
Me, there is no one better.
BGL:
Where do you want to be in 20 years?
RB:
I would like to own my own gym / studio.
BGL:
Best ever holiday?
RB:
I have two, 1/ Anywhere with the boy and family 2/ Anywhere with thousands of hot wasted boys (Ricky gives me the cheeky side eye-there’s that wild side he was talking about!)
BGL:
What is your getting ready track?
RB:
Changes a lot, but I do like a bit of Britney Spears
BGL:
Favourite club?
RB:
So far I like Circuit Water Park Party, any chance to walk around in Speedo’s all day.
BGL:
If you could have a super hero power, what would it be?
RB:
Telekinesis
BGL:
Your biggest regret?
RB:
At the moment, not paying attention in French at school.
BGL:
Boxers or Briefs?
RB:

BGL:
Your favourite BGL product and where would you wear it?
RB:
Always skimpy underwear, and all day every day.
BGL:
What is your advice for living your Best Gay Life?
RB:
